The Society for Systems Engineering (GfSE) is a leading German professional association specializing in the promotion and application of systems engineering. It provides a dynamic forum for the exchange of knowledge, the development of best practices, and collaboration among experts in the field of systems engineering.

The GfSE was founded in 1997 as a registered association. The GfSE is the German section of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and, as the German Chapter of INCOSE, represents the organization in German-speaking countries. It is a nonprofit association.

The GfSE’s mission is to promote the development of complex systems and to enhance their quality across various industries through standardization and the dissemination of knowledge. The individual contributions and commitment of the association’s members (individuals, companies, and institutions) create added value for society and, thus, for everyone.

The Society for Systems Engineering develops and oversees the standard taught in the SE-ZERT program. The goal is to provide uniform, cross-industry certification of systems engineering competencies.
